Quality assurance

How we verify what we supply

We do not manufacture. That makes verification our job, and we treat it as the centre of the service rather than a formality at the end of it.

The three checks

Every order, three checks

This is the whole process. It is deliberately simple, because a process nobody follows is worse than no process.

01

On receipt

Manufacturer documentation is checked against the purchase order before material enters our stock. If a delivery to us does not match its paperwork, it goes back rather than forward.

02

Before dispatch

The rating plate, batch number and quantities are verified against your order before anything is loaded. This is the check that catches substitution, and it is the one most suppliers skip.

03

On delivery

A joint inspection with you, against the delivery note, and signed off. If something does not match, we resolve it before we leave rather than after you have signed.

Standards

Standards we supply to

These are the standards referenced by the manufacturers whose products we supply. Documentation is provided with every order.

Product
Standard referenced
Transformers
IEC 60076
Transformer oil
IEC 60296
Power cables
IEC 60502
Overhead conductor and hardware
Per manufacturer specification
Switchgear
Per manufacturer specification

An honest note on certification. Smartmoon Global Tech does not hold ISO certification and we do not claim to. We are a supplier and installer, not a manufacturing plant, and the standards above are those our manufacturers build to. Any supplier in our position who displays a certification grid is showing you someone else’s certificate or their own company registration dressed up as one. We would rather show you the process we actually run.

Sourcing

How we choose what to stock

We stock products from manufacturers with a track record and a documentation trail: ABB, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Meksan, Astor and APAR among them. We describe ourselves as a stockist of these brands rather than an appointed distributor, because that is accurate and because you can verify it.

On imported lines we prefer to be the importer of record rather than buying through the local secondary market. Our transformer oil is imported directly, which means the drums arrive sealed, labelled and traceable to a batch instead of arriving with a history nobody can account for.

Where a client specifies a manufacturer we do not carry, we will say so and either source it as an indent order or tell you we are the wrong supplier for that job. Both of those answers are better for you than a substitution you discover on delivery.

With every order

What you receive

Manufacturer documentation

The paperwork that came with the product, passed on to you rather than filed with us.

Rating plate intact

Never removed, never painted over. It is how you identify the unit for the rest of its life.

Delivery note to check against

Itemised, so a joint inspection is possible rather than notional.

Installation support where specified

Where installation is in scope, testing and commissioning records come with it.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

The manufacturer documentation and the rating plate travel with the unit. We check both against your order before dispatch, and we check them again with you on delivery. If you want to inspect at our yard before loading, you are welcome to, and clients who do it once usually stop asking.
No, and we will not imply otherwise. We are a supplier and installer rather than a manufacturer. The standards listed above are those the manufacturers we buy from build to, and their documentation comes with your order.
We describe ourselves as a stockist of these brands, which is accurate. We do not claim authorised distributor, official partner or sole distributor status, because those words mean something specific and we would not use them without documentation to support them.
Raise it at the joint inspection, before you sign. That is the point of inspecting together. We resolve it rather than leaving you to argue about it later.
Where the manufacturer supplies them with the unit, yes, they come to you with the order. We will not produce a certificate that did not come from the manufacturer.
Yes. Documentation is checked against the purchase order before material enters our stock. Material that does not match its paperwork goes back.

Want to see the process first hand?

Come and inspect stock at our Alaba yard before you order, or send us a specification and we will show you the documentation for the unit we would supply.
